MINUTES. WONDERFUL. IT'S BEEN MOVED AND SECONDED TO APPROVE THE MARCH 27, 2024 MEETING MINUTES. GO AHEAD AND VOTE.

UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED. MINUTES ARE APPROVED. NEXT ITEM IS THE INTERVIEW OF MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE APPLICANTS. WE HAVE TEN FULL-TIME JUDGE POSITIONS TO FILL. ALL CURRENT JUDGES REAPPLIED FOR APPOINTMENT AND ATTORNEYS ALSO SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS. WE HAVE 17 CANDIDATES FOR FULL-TIME JUDGE.

DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS, WE'LL SEEK TO ESTABLISH THAT THE APPLICANTS MEET THE STATUTORY AND CHARTER QUALIFCATIONS FOR MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE. ALL CURRENT JUDGES' TERMS EXPIRE APRIL 30, 2024 AND THEY WILL SERVE IN A HOLDOVER CAPACITY UNTIL THE APPOINTMENTS ARE BEFORE THE FULL COUNCIL. THE TERMS WILL COMMENCE MAY 1, 2024.

FOLLOWING AN INTERVIEW IN EXECUTIVE SESSION WE WILL RECONVENE IN OPEN SESSION FOR THE CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER AND ACT IN AN UPCOMING A SESSION. THE TIME IS 2:05 P.M., WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2024. THE MUNICIPAL COURT ADVISORY COMMITTEE IS RECESSING INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR AND DELIBERATE THE APPOINTMENT OF FULL-TIME MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES PURSUANT TO 551.074 AND DISCUSS RELATED MATTERS 551.071, CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY.

I DO WANT TO START OFF BY SAYING THAT WE GOT TO INTERVIEW ALL 10 OF OUR EXISTING MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES, THE FULL-TIME ONES, AND WHAT I'VE LEARNED IN THIS TIME OR WHAT HAS BEEN REAFFIRMED IS THAT WE HAVE JUDGES WHO ARE LEADING WITH -- PEOPLE WITH SO LITTLE SPOTS, WE WERE SO THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED, BUT ULTIMATELY, THAT'S WHAT I THINK GUIDED OUR DECISION MAKING.
