FINGER AND A FEW ITEMS I WISH TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION ON THIS PORTION OF THE AGENDA. YEAH. WELL, ONE OF THEM, THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE, IS ITEM NO. 9. IT'S ABOUT PLACING A -- WELL, IT'S ABOUT PLACING THREE DWELLING UNITS, SHOEHORNING THEM IN A LITTLE PIECE OF PROPERTY OVER IN -- WELL, MADAME MAYOR, IT'S IN YOUR DISTRICT, DISTRICT 3.

AND THE BIG THING ABOUT THIS ONE IS THAT YOU HAVE SO MUCH OPPOSITION TO THIS THING.

HAVING BEEN ON BASSE ROAD FOR MORE THAN TEN YEARS, WE HAVE SEEN HOW THIS STREET HAS GROWN. AND A LOT OF THE CAR LOTS THAT STARTED OFF ON SAN PEDRO HAVE BROUGHT ENOUGH BUSINESS FOR CAR LOTS TO MOVE ON TO BASSE.

SO I THINK IT IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING REALLY POSITIVE FOR THE AREA.

IT MAKES IT LOOK CLEANER, HIGHER TAXES. YOU KNOW, WE MAINTAIN NOT ONLY THE STREET BUT THE ENTIRE AREA AND WE HAVE MADE IT OUR BUSINESS AND OUR HOME FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS NOW. AND I THINK IT'S ACTUALLY SOMETHING POSITIVE INSTEAD OF HAVING VACANT LOTS. AND, UNFORTUNATELY, THERE HAS BEEN SOME MENACING AROUND THE AREA. BUT AS THE CAR LOTS CLEAN UP AND WE HAVE CAMERAS.

WE HELP OTHER NEIGHBORS. I KNOW THERE'S THE PRINCE'S STORE RIGHT THERE.

JUST ACROSS THE STREET THERE'S A LITTLE OFFICE THAT HAS ACCOUNTING.

AND SO I THINK THAT IT IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING VERY POSITIVE FOR THE AREA.

I'M GIVING Y'ALL THAT INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXISTING HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION. SO THERE'S BEEN A PROPOSAL BEING PUT FORWARD TO REZONE IT. AND IT WOULD DRASTICALLY IMPACT THE RESIDENTS OF PALOMA PARK SUBDIVISION AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS . IT WAS CONTRIBUTE TO ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. AND THIS REZONING, IT WOULD REQUIRE ALSO THE PAVING OF STANISH ROAD AND WEICHOLD ROAD.

SO THE CITY WOULD HAVE TO DO THAT AND DO THE UTILITIES FOR THAT.

ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, AND FLOODING MITIGATION AS WELL. THERE IS NO EASEMENT ON THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY BETWEEN THE SUBDIVISION AND THIS PROPOSED PROPERTY.

SO I WOULD ASK THAT IF IT WAS DEVELOPED THAT MAYBE A BERM WOULD BE PLACED THERE.

SO YOU WOULD HAVE LIGHT, NOISE POLLUTION MITIGATION THERE AS WELL.

SO AS PROPERTY OWNERS, WE WERE ASKED THAT WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FOR THIS PROPERTY PARCEL TO BE DEVELOPED AS. AND IF IT WOULD NOT BE DONATED TO THE CITY FOR A CITY PARK, THEN PERHAPS SOMETHING LIKE A NURSERY. IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL TO BE DONATED FOR FITNESS TRAILS, JUNGLE GYMS, BENCHES, OR TREES.

IF NOT, THEN PERHAPS A NURSERY. AGAIN, THIS TRULY IS A SITE THAT WILL BE SURROUNDED BY COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES, NOT ONLY TO THE NORTH OF IT BUT ALSO TO THE EAST OF IT AND TO THE WEST OF IT WOULD BE LOOP 1604.

SO THE PALOMA PARK SUBDIVISION WOULD BE SANDWICHED IN BETWEEN ALL OF

THAT 24/7 ACTIVITY OF ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC, LIGHT, NOISE , TRASH, POLLUTION, AND TRAFFIC. THIS PARCEL OF LAND IS SLIGHTLY ELEVATED AND IT WOULD NEED TO HAVE SOME KIND OF RAIN RUNOFF MITIGATION. I DON'T BELIEVE A FRENCH DRAIN WOULD QUITE CUT IT FOR THIS. I'M THE ONLY HOMEOWNER REPRESENTED BECAUSE IT'S A BRAND-NEW SUBDIVISION AND MOST PEOPLE ARE STILL MOVING IN AND DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THEIR MAILBOX IS. DESPITE THE MAIL BEING MAILED TO ALL THE PEOPLE WITHIN THE 200 FEET, THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON JUST YET.
