SHINGLES ARE MORE APPROPRIATE MATERIALS. PROPOSED.
STUCCO ON THE GABLES AND VINYL SIDING ARE NOT SYMPATHETIC.
RETAINING AND REHABILITATING THE WOOD. BEVELED SIDING WITH NEW SIDING OF A SUBTLY DIFFERENT PROFILE WOULD BETTER DISTINGUISH OLD FROM NEW, WHILE REMAINING COMPATIBLE GABLES SHOULD REPRISE HISTORIC WOOD TREATMENTS RATHER THAN INTRODUCE NON HISTORIC STUCCO FOUNDATION.
